The Meaning of the Beatitudes

(THE WONDERFUL ATTITUDES)

Matthew Chapter 5:1-12. The 10 Steps and Work of God’s Plan of Salvation.

SUBMISSION brings about a change in CHARACTER.

Verse 3 – Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

SORROW of your sins brings about CONFESSION.

Verse 4 – Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

SALVATION brings about a change in CONDUCT.

Verse 5 – Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

CONSECRATION brings about and produces SATISFACTION.

Verse 6 – Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.

COMPASSION/CONSOLATION brings about and produces SYMPATHY.

Verse 7 – Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

COMMUNION with God brings about personal SANCTIFICATION.

Verse 8 – Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

SOUL WINNING brings COMFORT to those we go to.

Verse 9 – Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

SUFFERING comes from CONFLICT with the ways of this world.

Verse 10 – Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

SCORN comes from being in CHRIST/MESSIAH the smitten One.

Verse 11 – Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

SINGING/CHEERFULNESS comes from staying the COURSE or race set before us.

Verse 12 – Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
