Our Lords Perfect and Precious Offering

Key verses:-

Hebrews10:14. “For by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.”

1 Peter 1:19. “But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”

1) His Body – By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10.

Our Lord has:-

a) A Mystical body – His Church or the House of the Lord. cf. Isaiah 56:7.

b) A Memorial body – Represented by the matzah bread on the communion table.

c) A Material body – The Lord’s physical body in which He suffered and now in His glorified body He is enthroned and reigning on high.

2) His Blood – Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:19.

Its Intrinsic Value:-

a) Sin is a disease that only His blood can cure.

b) Sin causes a debt that only His blood can cancel.

c) Sin is a defilement that only His blood can cleanse.

Its Immediate Virtue:-

a) His royal precious blood brings us nigh unto God in forgiveness, fellowship and a fantastic future.
