One Solitary Life

HERE IS A YOUNG MAN who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. His birth has been recorded as being unique in that his mother was a virgin – conception being by the Holy Spirit; a new star was seen in the heavens and wise men paid Him homage. He worked in a carpenter’s shop until He was thirty and then for three years He was an itinerant preacher. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never owned a home. He never had a family, He did none of those things we normally associate with greatness. He had no credentials but himself and yet He performed astounding healing miracles in front of thousands of witnesses. He changed the lives of those He met and proved that He had power over death by bringing back to life three people on three different occasions.

WHILE HE WAS STILL A YOUNG MAN, the tide of public opinion turned against Him. His friends ran away. He was turned over to his enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. While He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth, and that was his coat. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed tomb through the pity of a friend. On the third day He arose in victory giving mankind a sure hope of life after death and fellowship with God for eternity. All of the above were the fulfilment of prophecies written about him hundreds of years beforehand. On the day that Yeshua HaMashiach allowed himself to be murdered by man, He fulfilled 33 prophecies. In all 333 prophecies were fulfilled (mathematicians have worked out that the probability of any one man fulfilling just 48 prophecies in their lifetime are 10 to the power of 157, that is 10 followed by 157 zeros which is a staggering arithmetical number.)

NINETEEN CENTURIES HAVE COME AND GONE, and today He is the central figure of the human race, and the leader of the column of progress. The Holy Bible that tells of this one solitary life is the most read, most printed, most well attested ancient book known to us. People have tried to ban it, burn it, belittle (disprove) it – all to no avail. The word of God is inspired, infallible and inerrant. His followers continue to grow and grow in numbers and His kingdom and dominion are without end. All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as has that –
