A Word in Season

The words of our Lord Jesus:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”  John 3:3.

“Do not marvel that I said unto you, you must be born again.”   John 3:7.

And after the passage of time…

“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love! Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place – unless you repent.”    Revelation 2:4-5.

This can come because we forget what is written…

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, The lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”  1 John 2:15-17.

“A little leaven leavens the whole lump!” Galatians 5:9.

“neither should there be filthiness (swearing), nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting (dirty jokes), which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.” Ephesians 5:4.

“Evil company corrupts good habits.” 1 Corinthians 15:33.

“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14.

The Lord Jesus spoke about some of us…

“He who received the seed (the Word of God) on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the Word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, but the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word and he becomes unfruitfulMatthew 13:20-22.

For some it is…

“And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish (lazy), but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises of God.” Hebrews 6:11-12.

“Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.” Hebrews 4:11.

“How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord., and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him (Jesus).” Hebrews 2:3.

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the Judgement.” Hebrews 9:27.

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.” Hebrews 10:31.
