A) The 5 Levitical Sacrifices

If Messiah is better than the Law then He must be better than the fivefold sacrificial system given by G-d within the Law to Moses. These 5 sacrifices were:-

1. The Sin Offering.
2. The Trespass offering.
3. The Peace Offering.
4. The Burnt Offering.
5. The Meal Offering.

We shall first of all look at these and what they mean, then on the following page we shall see how these have been fulfilled in our Messiah and are therefore complete and done away with during the period known as the Dispensation of Grace. (Ezekiel teaches us that some of these offerings are to be re-instated during the Millennial Rule of Messiah).

Finally we shall then see The Laws of the Body of Christ (Messiah) as shown within the New Testament letters written by Sha’ul (Paul) who as a Pharisee was a lawyer. The Pharisees were the interpreters of the Law and would offer a defence of it just as Paul does in showing Messiah Jesus fulfilled the Law by giving of Himself wholly as the perfect sacrifice.

Offering & Meanings:

SIN – ACCORDING TO POSITION AND WAS THE ATONEMENT.

TRESPASS – ACCORDING TO PRACTICE AND IT WAS THEIR RESTORATION.

PEACE – WAS PUBLIC (COMMON) TO ALL AND WAS THEIR RECONCILIATION.

BURNT – ACCORDING TO POSSESSION AND WAS THE CONSECRATION OF SELF.

MEAL – ACCORDING TO PROPERTY AND WAS THE CONSECRATION OF GIFTS.
