1. The Lord God is the Speaker – Isaiah 1:2.
2. The Message is to the sinner – Isaiah 1:4.
3. He reveals their disease – Isaiah 1:5-6.
(Man’s Destitution – Sin)
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God.
No righteousness – Romans 3:10.
No understanding – Romans 3:11.
No desire for God – Romans 3:11.
No goodness – Romans 3:12.
No peace – Romans 3:17.
No fear of God – Romans 3:18.
No defence – Romans 3:19.
Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
4. He rejects their offerings – Isaiah 1:11,15.
5. He commands repentance – Isaiah 1:16-17.
6. He announces pardon – Isaiah 1:18.
‘Come now’ – Invitation.
Let us reason together’ – Conversation.
‘Though your sins’ – Proclamation.
‘They shall be white as snow’ – Expiation.
7. He promises blessing – Isaiah 1:19.
8. He warns of judgement to come – Isaiah 1:20.
