Facts about the Land of Israel

1) After 70AD and 135AD most of the Jewish people were scattered around the world in fulfilment of God’s Word due to their rejection of His Laws and then His Messiah (Yeshua/Jesus). However, God’s promise was that after their punishment was fulfilled He would bring them back to their Land that he gave them.
Isaiah 40:1-2. “Comfort ye, comfort ye My people (Nachamu Nachamu Ami), saith your God. Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.”
Jeremiah 31:10. “Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock.”

A number of nations have possessed the land of Israel, the last being Britain and before this Turkey from 1517 – 1917. So what is it that we have written, that is for our learning and understanding:-

In 1874 we may note that the Land was described by Rev. Samuel Manning in his book ‘Those Holy Fields’ published 1874 as ‘… the Land is left void and desolate and without inhabitants.’ This leaves us wondering when and where the so called Palestinian peoples were actually living, because it was clearly not in the land of Israel. A fact many seem to ignore!?!

Further to this in 1886 in ‘The Land and the Book’ by W. M. Thompson he states: “How melancholy is the utter desolation! Not a house, not a trace of inhabitants, not even shepherds … to relieve the dull monotony … Isaiah the prophet says that Sharon shall be a wilderness, and it has become a sad and impressive reality.”
We should therefore pay particular attention to what God has said, “… your land shall be desolate …” (Leviticus 26:33) and then also what He will do to those who come against His people Israel and His earthly city Jerusalem.
Zechariah 8:2-3. “Thus says the Lord of Hosts: I am zealous for Zion with great zeal; with great fervour I am zealous for her. I will return to Zion and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, The Mountain of the Lord of Hosts, The Holy Mountain.”
Zechariah 12:3. “And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”
Jeremiah 25:31. “A noise will come to the ends of the earth, for the Lord has a controversy with the nations; He will plead His case with all flesh. He will give those who are wicked to the sword, says the Lord.”
Joel 3:16. “The Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem, the heavens and earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter for His people and the strength of the children (people) of Israel.”

2) A report in 1864 indicated that the largest group of residents in Jerusalem were Jewish.
“The populations of the City of Jerusalem is computed at 18,000
of whom about 8,000 to 9,000 are Jews and 5,000 are Muslims.
The rest are Christians of various denominations.”

3) In 1920 the League of Nations designated British occupied Palestine as a homeland for the Jewish people. This area included all the land of Israel and Transjordan (modern day Jordan). Britain however, due to Arab pressure (ie. Oil) broke its promise and in 1922 gave 77% of the land now called Palestine to the Arabs. This being the area that is east of the Jordan River and is today called Jordan). What is important to note is that Jews were allowed to settle and indeed did settle in the mountains of Israel (the so called West Bank area).
Jordan captured this area in 1948 but in 1967 the Israelis took back this area during the Six Day War. Most people do not have the facts and are subject to what has been told them by various groups and/or governments which is then reported by the News Media. There has been a bias and an agenda by the powers that be.

4) A census in 1931 gives the following birth places of Muslims living in the region. This proves that most were not native to what is referred to as Palestine. (The list of countries below is from ‘Time Immemorial’ by Joan Peters, page 227).

Albania, Algeria, Australia, Central America, Central Asiatic Territories, Cyprus, Egypt, Far Eastern Asia, France, Greece, Hejaz-Nejd, Indian Continent, Iraq, Morocco, Palestine, Persia (Iran), South America, Spain, Syria, Transjordan, Tripoli, Tunis, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA, USSR, Yemen, Other Arabian Territories, Other African Territories.

5) In 1948 Israel became a nation again living in their ancient Land that they had occupied since 1312BC when they first became a nation living in the land known as Yeretz Yisrael (the Land of Israel).
In 1967 Arabs living in Israel fled during the Six Day War and again due to Arab pressure the world has given in and we have to day the Palestinian issue which space does not permit the writer to go into in depth. What is clear is that Arafat was an Egyptian, who became a terrorist calling himself the leader of the Palestinian peoples and ultimately received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts after decades of intimidation and terrorism. Yet he and his organisation received millions of dollars, sterling, and euros in aid some of which never reached the people under his control.
This is a Statement by the PLO … “The struggle … is not about Israel’s borders, but about Israel’s existence.”
Today we still have Arab leaders wanting to rule over both parts of what the British termed Palestine (Israel and Transjordan). The extermination of Israel is called for but this will never happen and will end in Armageddon as God is in control. His people will have the land He gave them and they will live in peace. It is written and will come to pass despite all opposition from anyone! As 82% of God’s prophetic statements regarding Israel and the Nations have come true, we can rest assured that the other 18% will in the years ahead.

This brings us up to date as a peace plan becomes the elusive goal of so many.
Why is it that the Middle East has such problems? The answer lies within an ideology called The Koran (Quran). It is a book that contradicts itself and confuses those that follow its teachings. It teaches Jihad (holy war) and a form of peace, but only under Allah and so Jews and Christians will never accept this.

Let us note that while the Holy Bible teaches that Israel will possess the Holy Land, aliens are allowed to live in Israel under Israeli rule. So today thousands of Arab Muslims live in peace under Israeli law. They have homes and jobs in Israel and some even sit as representatives in the Israeli Knesset (Parliament).

Israel would like peace but not at the expense of being divided under who ever would like to rule or control them internally or externally! To date she has won every battle started by her enemies and will continue to do so under and with the divine help of the Lord God Almighty, who in over 100 verses names Himself as the God of Israel. They are His covenant people. Amen.
