The Great Tribulation
Our Lord Yeshua describes it as being –
- Unique in History –
“such as was not – nor ever shall be.” Matt 24:21.
- Unequalled in Severity –
“except those days should be shortened, there should be no flesh saved.” Matthew 24:22.
- Unexcelled in Providence –
“for the elect’s sake, these days shall be shortened.” Matthew 24:22.
NB. “For Jacob My servant’s sake, and Israel My elect.” Isaiah 45:4.
It is called –
- The Time of Jacob’s Trouble – Jeremiah 30:7.
“Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.”
- The Day of the Lord – Joel 2:1-2.
- The Great Tribulation – Revelation 7:14.
The Period will have 4 characteristics –
- The Cumulation of Deception and Depravity – Matthew 24:5, 12.
- The Culmination of Distress – Matthew 24:21.
- The Curtailment of its Duration – Matthew 24:22.
- The Consummation of the Dispensation – Matthew 24:29-30.
