Chanukah 1

Chanukah
The Feast of Dedication

Chanukah is the Jewish word for Dedication. (So named because it celebrates the rededication of the Temple to the Lord after its Gentile desecration).

They just don’t seem to learn that if you touch the apple of His eye His people are given another holiday: Pesach (slavery) Purim, Chanukah, 6 Day War.

It is in the 9th month of the Jewish year – 25th Kislev.
It is an 8 day Feast of Lights (Chanukeah Menorah).
75 days after Yom Kippur – The Day of Atonement.
Dates back to 165 B.C. during the 400 silent years.
(from Malachi to Yochanan HaMatbiel no prophetic voice was heard in Israel, no visions or angelic visits)

6 books teach us about this Festival:-
Daniel – the prophetical. (8:1-12; 9:27; 11:32-33)
1 Maccabees. (False covenant, Temple desecrated)
2 Maccabees. (The heroes and the martyrs)
Gospel of John. (10:22-23) Yeshua remembers.
Hebrews (11:34) This verse hints of the events.
Josephus – Antiquities of the Jews 1st Century A.D.
