The Believer is exhorted and encouraged in 7 ways

1) To a true faith – forsaking all I trust in Him. 1 Timothy 1:5.

2) To hold the faith with a good conscience. 1 Timothy 1:19.

3) To hold the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 1 Timothy 3:9.

4) To be taught the scriptures to produce a strong faith. 1 Timothy 4:6.

5) To be an example in faith towards others. 1 Timothy 4:12.

6) To follow after faith with diligence and endurance. 1 Timothy 6:11. (cf. Hebrews 6:11-12; 10:36.)

7) To fight the good fight of faith. I Timothy 6:12. (cf. 1 Tim 1:10 and 1 John 5:4 showing that faith is the victory which overcomes the world)
