Here are 5 ‘faithful sayings’ from the Apostle Paul in his pastoral epistles to the Church.
We should meditate on them much and study their implications towards the saints. The number 5 denotes grace, and so by grace we have been saved. Ephesians 2:8.
1) The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 1:15.
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
2) The Oversight in the Assembly. 1 Timothy 3:1.
“This is a faithful (true) saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.”
3) The Profit derived from Godly Living. 1 Timothy 4:8-9.
“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach”
4) The Reward for Suffering and Endurance. 2 Timothy 2:11-12.
“This is a faithful saying, for if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we suffer (endure), we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He will also deny us. If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself.”
5) The Maintenance of Good Works. Titus 3:8.
“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
