The Six T’s of The Faith

Ha Shiveinu, Adonai, Eleicha, ve NaShuvah, Chadesh, Yamenu KeKedem

Turn us back to You, 0 LORD, and we shall be restored. Renew our days as of old.
(Lamentations 5:21)

What is Teshuvah? It comes from the root Shuva, inferring Return, and is the process of REPENTANCE, and thence restoration. Every child of Israel who repents of their sinful ways, and asks for forgiveness from the LORD through His Son Yeshua haMashiach, who is their ultimate and only sacrificial Kaporah, can expect to be restored.

Tefillah is prayer. When we pray to the LORD our God, we must also give Him thanks and praise, for He created us.

Tehillim are praises. The Book of Psalms is Sefer Tehillim – the Book of Praises. We praise Adonai Elohim Yisrael for His Goodness and Mercy – Chesed – in sending His Son Yeshua to save us from our sin and to set us free.

Tzedakah is righteousness. Our Messiah Yeshua is described as of the order of Melchizedek – the Righteous King. But our faith by works alone is dead. If our lives do not reflect what we say, how then can our witness be effective? We must also lead godly lives, and practise what we preach, that others may be touched as we have been touched. If we really love Yeshua our Messiah, then we must live as He taught us.

Tikkun is Restoration, or Repair. It is restoration of our status with Adonai Elohim, and the repair of our relationship with Him as children of our loving Father who wants us all to turn back to Him and love Him as He loves us.

The Torah was given to us as a means of instruction, not law. Yeshua Himself said, “I have not come to destroy the Torah, but to fulfil it.” He
is our living Torah. He came that we should be free from bondage, and that we should know that He is our true instruction and the Way by which we should all live.

“I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No-one can come to the Father except through Me.”
Yochanan 14:6.
